Mexican Spurs
The Mexican Cowboy or vaquero wore spurs that originate from Mexico or the Mexican area were usually forged from cast iron.
The hall marks of a pair of Mexican cowboy spurs can be summarized as follows:
- Larger rowells
- Simple design
- Basic or crude patterning or surface design
The Mexican boot spur may also have a "Pajados" or "Jingle Bob" attached.
The Jingle Bob is a item that attaches to the rowell. This item gives the cowboy spur its distinctive jingle sound when the wearer walks.

The Mexican or Chihuahua style is known for their oversize rowells and large chunky heel bands.
