When you talk about Cowboy Spurs and the makers of western bits, buckles, spurs and tack there are 3 famous makers, refered to as "The BIG 3" that are most common. Collectors of western memorabillia know these makers as a testament of quality, originality and genuine American history.
- North and Judd
- Renalde
- Crockett
The 3 companies all have simple, small groundings in the manufacturing of spurs and eventually all became one company under the brand of Crockett Renalde before the company finally closed.
There has never been a better trio of hand craftsmen than the skill and experience behind people such as Jim Renalde

I have a pair of spurs with a mark I cannot find they are silver or plated silver with the initial CR with a horshoe around the CR. They have leather straps and are in pretty good shape. Any info is appreciated.
The CR stands for Crockett Renalde.
See the links above in the top right for Crockett and Renalde spurs and information.
I have a pair of spurs marked Crockett Adamson. I’ve seen spurs marked Crockett but never before with the word Adamson? Do you know anything about this? Thank you.
Robert,
ADAMSON refers to a contemporary maker of spurs – eg: modern day.
Perhaps they are copies?
I have pair of spurs that my father left me well want to know about them they have upside down horse shoe with B inside they also have four leave clover was hoping you tell me something about them who made them or were i could go to get more info.
I have a pair of spurs that were my dads. They have a horseshoe with a B stamped inside, also the words ‘Super Never Rust’. I have no idea of who the maker would have been. Some sources say they came from England, but nothing definitive yet. Simply would like more information. I believe he got them in the 1940′s-50′s, possibly earlier.
Is there somewhere I can learn the identificatio of a pair of Roy Spurs by serial number? We found a pair several years ago, and I would like to return them to the owner.
Not that I am aware of.
Perhaps another visitor will be able to help?
@Kelly – I have seen some of these before but do not know who the maker is. Sorry.
I’am looking for a pair of ROY roughstock spurs. Any & all help will be much appreciated.
